December 4th 2022 Gathering at the Drumlin House

For those of you that read my last email on our December 4th Vine and Wine gathering you need not read this and, if you are so inclined, you can just look below and check out the pictures that Jan took during our gathering. Of course, if you did not bother to read my email it is highly unlikely that you will bother to read this. There is no reason to be alarmed by my apparent bad attitude. It’s the holiday season and I tend to be a bit of a Grinch. At least I’m not a Scrouge.

Our December 4th gathering turned out to be a great event at the beautiful Drumlin house at the Abiquiu Inn. We had 37 attendees which included four Abiquiu Inn support staff members. I personally want to thank Jamie, Constanze, Raelynn and Deanna as they went above and beyond to make this event so amazing. I also want to thank Colin and Bridget. They are incredibly generous, as in the past, they are true supporters of the Vine and Wine Society.

Mike, Tina, Wendy, and Mary were very instrumental in making this event such a great success. If it were not for them, I would have felt like a lost child in the forest. Believe me, I remember exactly what that feels like. While I’m at it, thanks Donna.

So, you ask, why was this event so successful other than the contributions of the folks mentioned above? The obvious would include the fact that we had great Gruet sparkling wines, a nice assortment of other wines, and delicious appetizers. Another important factor in the success of this event was that folks brought good stuff for the auction and folks were very generous in bidding on the items being auctioned off.  We also received a couple of nice donations.
